In 1978 Dee D. Jackson recorded a song for the future. Automatic Lover was the Coin-Operated Boy of its day.

So to wash that taste out here is the Coin Operated Boy video:

But in 2002 Jay Jay Johanson covered Automatic Lover. The song was just as bad. The video was just as silly, and yet somehow worse because it lost the pure goof of the original.

Oddly though, this remake doesn’t make me think of Coin Operated Boy but instead Black Velveteen. So uhh here’s the video for that, while we’re at it:
