I guess I did it.

APK | May 15, 2007 | 8:41 am

I climbed the stairs to the platform. As soon as my foot hit the top step a guy started yelling, “It was him!” and pointing at me. There was a cop standing there next to the guy. He looked over at me, but seemed completely uninterested.

“It was him! He did it!” the guy repeated. I could hear him over my music, but I took my headphones out anyway. A train passed. I looked at him and then at the cop. “It was him!”

“What was me?”

“Just…” the cop started, stopped and waved me away.

“It was him! He did it!” The finger pointing became wild hand gestures to indicate my guilt.

“What did I do? What?”

“Just go,” the cop said, not pleading but certainly not wanting to deal with this guy any longer.

So I walked a ways down the platform and stuck my headphones back in and waited for a train.

I still don’t know what it is that he thought I did.
