Cat on windowsill near my desk. Flat as a furry sausage. Sleeping the day away while I write.

A pigeon lands on the windowsill, on the other side of the glass, of course. Quiet bird, it walks up and down the window, looking around.

Cat suddenly yawns. A huge swallow-your-own-head-backwards type of yawn.

Bird takes two steps back in sudden “what the holy FUCK?!” It’s about a step too far. Bird vanishes as it falls off the windowsill backwards. I hear a squawk and look out to see the bird flapping like mad to go somewhereanywherelesethankyou.

Cat glances out the window, wondering what the hell just happened. Cat lays back down and goes back to sleep.
