Selling Out: Product testing part one.
APK | October 16, 2007 | 1:42 pmSo one day Joe Stirt let me know about a request for reviewers. Black and Decker was looking for some people to test a new product line and talk about it – good or bad. They wanted bloggers.
So I mailed them.
Nothing happened for a while.
Then I got a box. It wasn’t a very small box, no. Black and Decker wanted me to test their new VPX power system. See the idea here is that VPX batteries, which are some new thing, power any VPX tool. So the same battery can work for a flashlight or a drill. I gotta say I like the idea of one power pack for everything.
Well, I now have two VPX starter kits to test out. Each one has a battery, flashlight, drill and cutsaw.
I am not being paid to talk about this stuff. I mean I got the stuff for free to review it but aside from the tools there is no fee involved. I am not being paid to talk nicely about the stuff either. So expect the reviews to be honest. One way or the other they will be honest.
However I will start out by giving mad props to Black and Decker for doing the battery thing (and hope it works as they claim) and also for sending me fun shit to test.
Pre-review stuff: I love the color scheme. These tools look like transformers. That kinda rocks. Anyway, over the new few weeks expect reviews of this stuff to happen. Which means I have to find things to test them on and then right that up.
What can I put holes in? What can I cut? How should I test the flashlight in a way that is both fun and educational?
Ideas are welcome.
Let the power tools games begin!

can you still sign up to do this? got a link to share?
There is no link to an offer, it was a contact info bit for one guy. As far as I know he sent out the units he had to send out to test. Sorry.
