A contest for the editors out there. WIN SOMETHING COOL! For reals, yo.
APK | March 2, 2009 | 8:57 amSo you guys know those rubber bracelets that they make? The ones that say “LIVESTRONG” or “YOURMOM” or “My other bracelet is the Batmobile” or whatever?
Well.
I have four of them, bright yellow, words engraved in a nice TNR font, that say:
What Would An Editor Do?
And I will give you one of them for free. Sort of.
Here is how this is going to work. I am having a contest. It is open to anyone on the planet. So long as they’re an editor. So feel free to spread this around. Anyway the contest is simple!
Write a story about your strangest editing experience ever.
That’s it. That’s all you have to do. You decide what that means to you and you write something and you submit it and the four winners will each have their stories published here and get one of the bracelets mailed to them.
And now for the fine print, presented, at no extra charge, at the same size as the rest of this!
* Contest is open to anyone living on planet Earth, so long as they’re an editor or were doing editing work at the time of their story.
* Contest will be judged by a panel of editors.
* Contest is open from 9am EST March 2, 2009 until midnight March 13, 2009.
* Winners will be announced, on adampknave.com and notified by email, by Monday, March 23, 2009.
* There is no fee to enter, one entry per person.
* All entries must be mailed to adampknave @ gmail.com with a subject line of “I WANT THAT BRACELET” and the entry itself in the body of the email. No attachments.
* An entry in the contest gives us the right to post your entry (one time only) on adampknave.com and all other sites that adampknave.com feeds into.
* An entry can be as short as it needs to be to tell the story.
* An entry can not, however, be longer than five (5) thousand words.
* Judges are not secret but at this time I have not heard final confirmations from all of them so they can reveal themselves as they see fit.
* Judges decisions are final.
