Molly Danger, Jamal Igle, and me.
So Jamal Igle has this awesome comic project going on: MOLLY DANGER. I was excited by it when I first heard about it. A lot of this is because I am a fan of Jamal’s. His art on Supergirl, Firestorm, The Ray… and so many other books – I’ve been a fan of his art for a while. So to hear he had a book where he would also write it gave me great pleasure.
Jamal has an amazing eye for story-telling and acting. He can tell a story and MOLLY DANGER looks to be a good one. So yeah, I was excited about this book. A book with a female lead who is awesome and all-ages and …. it has such a well-rounded, smart, aim. Really it is gonna amazing.
I also have the pleasure of kinda knowing Jamal. I say kinda knowing because it has been, so far, a convention relationship. We met in a bar in Baltimore. We say hi and how goes at cons when we see each other and have sat and chatted over drinks, but not often. Still, I can say, honestly, that Jamal is one of the good guys – nice, open, hard-working and enjoys life.
So I realized I really wanted to work with him someday. As a writer, an editor, whatever it felt like it would be a blast to work with Jamal Igle.
And now I get the chance. I just signed up as the editor for MOLLY DANGER and I could not be happier. This is, in many ways, a dream gig for me.
